Overview

G'day! My name is Dana Harris, and I've been involved in businesses around Australia for years, from working long hours in Melbourne to travelling around the country to tend to family-owned businesses in the country. If there is one thing I know, it is that time management is no longer a luxury, it’s a survival skill in the modern workplace.

This comprehensive training is created to assist Australian professionals who are sick and tired of feeling like they are always trying to catch up. Weirdly, we’ll avoid the standard advice on productivity and instead cover based-on-reality tactics for getting stuff done in our particular business context — such as clients who span global timezones, the wannabe happy clappy challenges of working in Australia, or juggling feast and famine work hours.

With hands-on workshops, exercises and lots of peer learning, you will create a time management system that works for your life and work. This isn’t about turning yourself into a productivity machine at the expense of all else – it is about making space for what matters most, professionally and personally.

What You Will Learn

Module 1: The Reality Check We are going to begin by taking an honest look at where your time really goes compared to where you think it goes. You’ll discover easy-to-follow tracking systems that will expose those hidden time drains and show you when you’re at your most productive. No judgment! - only clarity around your current patterns so we can work from there.

Module 2: Priority Under Pressure In a world where everything feels urgent, how do you determine what truly is? We’ll look at practical frameworks, such as the Eisenhower Matrix, and show you how to quickly evaluate competing priorities when your boss, clients and teammates all need something, “right now.”

MODULE 3: SYSTEMS THAT STICK No more fancy-pants apps or complex filing systems you’ll outgrow in a week! We’ll cover simple, sustainable organizational strategies that will still hold up when you are feeling pulled in a million different directions. You’ll design systems for managing emails, documents and projects that actually fit the way you work.

Module 4: The Art of Saying No Discover how to guard your time and energy without ruining relationships. We will work on scripts to say no to demands professionally, negotiating deadlines effectively and setting expectation at a level that is acceptable for everyone involved.

Module 5: Break-Proof Your Day Whether it's the colleague who knows no such thing as a quick conversation, the unforeseen urgent request, or your penchant for popping over to social media for just a second (or sixty), we will learn how to concentrate even while being responsive to legitimate causes.

Module 6: Constructing Your Personal Productivity System This is when everything you’ve learned so far is integrated. You’ll build a personalized system that combines the practices that work best for your exact job, work context, and personal dispositions. We will also make a plan for how to hang onto these habits when life gets chaotic.
